Great Vegan Bake-Off 2018 – Finalists

For this year's Great Vegan Bake-Off, we invited people to put their baking skills to the test and show off their favourite vegan creations. And they responded in droves! We've had an overwhelming number of submissions featuring scrumptious vegan delights.

Picking the seven finalists has been no easy task, but at long last, we've narrowed down all the delectable entries and can reveal our shortlist.

Check out our list of the top baked goods, and scroll to the bottom of the page to cast your vote:

Anna Middleton (Bristol)

Anna's raw coconut and cherry chocolate gateau is layered with chocolate mousse, cherries, and coconut cream and topped with raw chocolate shavings. This delight will help you satisfy your sweet tooth without reaching for sugar – although you'll most likely reach for another slice.

Holly Jade (The Midlands)

Holly's chocolate cactus cake has layers of chocolate sponge, vegan "Nutella", and vanilla "buttercream". The end result is a moist, fluffy, and rich chocolate cake. Also, the piped cacti bring a whole new meaning to the term "plant-based"

Valentina Fois (Italy)

Filled with vanilla and mango "cream", Valentina's chocolate and mango cake features nine layers of animal-friendly goodness topped with figs, berries, and flowers. It's a vegan fairy tale come to life.

Mimie Demay (France)

This vegan, gluten-free pumpkin cake with caramelised walnuts is every pumpkin lover's idea of heaven. From cinnamon to nutmeg, this impressive creation is flavoured with plenty of seasonal goodness.

Robyn Trafford (Oxford)

Robyn's Eton mess cake puts a contemporary, cruelty-free spin on an iconic English classic. A dairy- and egg-free fusion of Victoria sponge and Eton mess, this cake is a testament to the versatility and creativity of vegan baking.

Nadine Davis (Clacton-on-Sea, Essex)

Nadine's vegan meringue cake is made with chocolate "cream" and candied pecans, resulting in a great marriage of flavours and textures. According to the baker herself, this is one you can enjoy both at the height of summer and on a cold winter's day.

Joceline Nason (St Agnes, Cornwall)

Joceline's apple and cider cake with cider-caramel "cream", "custard buttercream", and cinnamon icing is inspired by the change of seasons. A true ode to autumn, her creation is a soft, moist sponge cake flavoured with apple pieces, cinnamon, and cider.

You now have until 24 October to vote to help us decide who we should choose as the Great Vegan Bake-Off winner. PETA will give equal consideration to two factors when choosing the winner: the total number of votes that the entry receives and our final assessment of how tasty it looks.

The winner will be announced by 27 October, and he or she will receive the glory of being crowned the greatest vegan baker as well as the warm and fuzzy feeling that comes with knowing that his or her recipe will inspire others to try cruelty-free baking.

This competition is now closed. We will be announcing the winner of the Great Vegan Bake Off 2018 on this Saturday on the 27th October.
