That’s why we’re calling on as many MPs as possible to join us at our event focused on an animal-free future in science.

Infected, Burned, and Killed

Experimenters subject living, feeling beings to almost unbearable physical and psychological suffering. In the UK, dogs are force-fed pesticides, rabbits have drugs injected into their eyes, and experimenters inflict brain injuries on mice before decapitating them.

Millions more animals are poisoned, deliberately infected, paralysed, or surgically mutilated.

The Government Must Act

The Government’s new strategy to phase out animal testing is a major turning point – a real chance to modernise UK research and accelerate the shift toward more effective, ethical, human-relevant science. But for this strategy to become reality, it will take cross-sector collaboration and thoughtful engagement with all stakeholders, including those that represent the most affected population, the animals used in experiments.

Organised by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the event will bring together Parliamentarians, leading scientists, and sector experts to discuss how this landmark strategy can be effectively implemented. Speakers include TV presenter and animal advocate Gail Porter, scientists from Unilever and XCellR8, academics working in the field, and host Irene Campbell MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Phasing Out Animal Experiments in Medical Research.
