Orcas Exploited in Marine Parks – Send TUI a Message

TUI is the UK’s last remaining major travel provider still promoting and selling tickets to SeaWorld, Loro Parque and other sites, where orcas and other dolphins are imprisoned in cramped, chemically treated tanks and forced to perform demeaning tricks for tourists.
Please send a letter to TUI officials to let them know you’re outraged by this!

Life in Captivity

Marine parks confine orcas and other dolphins in concrete tanks that are the equivalent of a human living in a bathtub. They’re deprived of the opportunity to swim freely and dive deep, as they would in the ocean, or do anything else that’s natural and important to them. As a result of constant confinement, many become neurotic, self-destructive, and extremely dangerous.

Marine Park Deaths

More than 40 orcas have died at SeaWorld’s parks – facilities that TUI sells tickets to – due to severe trauma, intestinal gangrene, and chronic cardiovascular failure, among other causes. And 4 orcas have died at Loro Parque in Tenerife since 2021 alone. According to the non-profit group Ceta-Base, over 800 dolphins and other cetaceans have died in the numerous marine parks that TUI promotes around the world.

Dear [NAME of the OFFICIAL]

I was outraged to learn that TUI is the UK’s last remaining major travel provider still promoting and selling tickets to marine parks. I urge you to immediately stop profiting from animal abuse.

Marine parks like SeaWorld and Loro Parque confine orcas and other dolphins in small, chemically treated concrete tanks, where they’re deprived of the opportunity to swim freely, dive deep, or do anything else that’s natural or important to them. Instead, they are forced to perform unnatural and demeaning tricks for paying tourists, causing many to become neurotic, self-destructive, and extremely dangerous.

A life sentence in marine parks is literally killing animals. According to Ceta-Base, more than 800 orcas, other dolphins and cetaceans have died at SeaWorld and other marine parks endorsed by TUI.

Numerous other travel providers – including Jet2holidays, easyJet holidays, Virgin Atlantic Holidays, British Airways Holidays, Club Med, Tripadvisor, Airbnb, and Booking.com – have done the right thing by animals and severed ties with these unethical businesses.

Marine wildlife belongs in the ocean.

When will TUI drop exploitative marine parks?

Thank you for your time and attention.

Sincerely,
