The barbaric fur trade kills millions of animals each year for nothing more than coats, bobble hats, keyrings, and fur trim. Foxes, minks, chinchillas and even cats and dogs may be electrocuted or gassed to death. Fur farming is so cruel that it’s been illegal in the UK for over 20 years – but imports and sales are still not banned! Please urge your MP to support a #FurFreeBritain by voting for the Fur (Import and Sale) Bill to pass its second reading on 13 June.

Numerous PETA exposés of fur factory farms have revealed the barbaric origins of fur coats and accessories. Minks, foxes, raccoons, and many other animals farmed for their fur spend their entire lives being driven insane by confinement in cramped, filthy wire cages. Neglected and often left suffering from untreated injuries and infections, they’re finally beaten to death, electrocuted, gassed, or skinned alive.
Most Brits (93%) refuse to wear fur, and more and more designers have shunned it. Even the late Queen Elizabeth ditched it from her wardrobe, and Her Majesty the Queen has followed suit.
Since the UK has left the EU, a ban on importing fur is no longer restricted by prohibitive EU trade regulations. Introducing a ban is essential to close the loop on the UK’s hypocritical regulations and end our part in animal suffering for fur. The UK now has an opportunity to be the first country in Europe to ban all sales and imports of fur, setting an example for the rest of the world to follow.

On 13 June 2025, Members of Parliament will discuss and vote on the Fur (Import and Sale) Bill that, if it becomes law, will ban fur sales and imports to the UK. Please urge your MP to attend the second reading and vote for the bill to proceed to becoming law! Your action could help spare millions of animals from being gassed and electrocuted for unnecessary fashion accessories and garments.
